An Interactive Seminar was also held on the topic “Towards Building a Natural Economic Zone: Enhancing Agricultural and Industrial Potential”. The panelist/experts from their respective fields interacted with the surrendered militants and villagers of Garo Hills how they can engage themselves, right from traditional cultivation to a number of vegetable cultivation projects.
Programme on “Toilet Etiquette” was conducted by the Foundation at Nirumapa Memorial Secondary School, Garobadha, Garo Hills, Meghalaya. This was addressed by Dr. Gourdas Choudhury, Director, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon and aimed at reaching out to underprivileged school children of Garo Hills residing along the Indo-Bangladesh border
National ART CAMP on Clean, Green Northeast was conducted by Vibgyor N.E Foundation at Don Bosco College, Tura, Meghalaya in collaboration with Don Bosco College, Tura and Lalit Kala Akademi, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India. Artists from Lalit Kala Akademi or National Academy of Art, India’s national academy of fine arts, took part in the Art Camp. Many students and faculties from various schools and colleges participated in the art camp. Through this camp, the artists promoted conservation of nature.
